About Swatch Ledger

A small notebook
for better measurements.

Built around one useful habit: measure a small sample, write down what happened, and keep the assumptions next to the answer.

What this site is for

Swatch Ledger helps home sewists turn before-and-after measurements into understandable percentages and a fabric-length estimate. The name reflects the idea of keeping a simple record beside a physical swatch.

You can compare two fabric directions, work backwards from the usable length you need, and print or download the record. Calculations run in your browser. There is no login, uploaded fabric photo or account history.

Who runs it

Swatch Ledger is independently operated by CHEN. Contact: ad@random-walk.co.jp. It is not affiliated with a fabric manufacturer, testing laboratory or the sources linked from the site.

How the work is checked

The formulas are published with independently worked examples and automated checks for shrinkage, growth, zero change, invalid inputs and purchasing increments. The content and implementation use AI assistance. We do not claim textile qualifications, laboratory testing or independent expert review.

If a result seems wrong, send the four dimensions, the units and the output you expected. Avoid including private information. Corrections that change an answer will be recorded with a date on the methodology page.

How it is funded

The tool is free. The site is intended to support advertising in the future, subject to provider approval and the required consent setup. Advertising is currently disabled. There are no affiliate links in this launch version.
